Thanksgiving!

Hello there!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
Now if that isn't a truly American experience, a holiday meant for getting fat: November 27th, Thanksgiving.
I had a slight idea if what Thanksgiving would be like, but this was much more than I thought it would be - such a great experience. My new host family (in which I feel soooo much better in) invited a lot of family and friends and it almost felt a little bit like Christmas (Partly because of the snow, yes snow, in November, like, really? Haha).
We all cooked together, and there was a lot to cook! The turkey of course, with its stuffing and baked vegetables, and also mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes, cornmuffins, cranberry relish and sauce, pumpkin pie, lemon pie, banana bread, and my favorite of all, pumpkin bread!

Family.
Of course it is a holiday all about food, but the one thing that is even more important than that was family. It was such a great opportunity to just get together and to meet all of the family and friends of my host family, which I am truly happy to live in now. The whole atmosphere was just really nice and fun. It makes you appreciate what you have, and what's normal for you, but in reality can't be considered normal at all. I know this sounds cheesy, but I can just say that I am so glad to be here, in this new family, with my wonderful Counselor Deb and my wonderful friend El, and I want to thank my family in Germany for what they are going through for me.

Love you all!

Stay tuned!

Bye
